    this mans lower back is quite arched could eventually press into the nerves. Tucking the tailbone under a little will work the abs much more while saving your back and the navel will go in normally as you exhale rather than trying to hold them in and breathe.

    Actually it does work for abs. You are correct in static contractions for other muscles. However the purpose of abs is to keep your body still and upright. Research shows that static contractions for the abs are more effective than crunches. Do your reasearch, and hopefully you dont have clients to by into your exercise science….

    I kinda gave up after a while on this as I usually do, not cos it doesn’t work but cos I kept forgetting to do it but my boyfriend did ask if I’d been doing sit ups at the time cos I felt much ‘firmer’ and I just smiled and said nope :)
